clause.

How much size will this actually take?

Type a market in plain words and a dollar size. Clause finds the contract, walks the live book, and reports both numbers: what the venue advertises, and what is reachable.

Why the headline number misleads

The failure

The depth is not where it looks

Order-book depth is an offer. Traded volume is a fact. On these venues the two disagree constantly, because leaving a quote far from the mid costs nothing.

A market can advertise $65,883 of depth and hold $33 that is reachable. When the gap is wide enough to mislead, the verdict is BOOK IS MIRAGE.

Measured live, per market, from the book and the tape.

What each one means

LIQUID reachable depth covers your size.

THIN it will take you, but you will move the price doing it.

BOOK IS MIRAGE the advertised depth is parked where it will not trade.

INSUFFICIENT_DATA the check did not run. This is not a pass, and it never renders as one.

Below about 10¢, sizes are reported in cents rather than basis points — a half-cent move on a 2¢ contract is 2,500bps and the figure is useless.
